It started in high school. I felt different compared to the other kids. There was something off. Some people were going to parties and drinking 99 Bananas while I was going to concerts. My daily schedule was: go to school, swim practice, do homework, and go to bed. I needed something else.
Project 365 was something people were doing on Flickr at the time. I noticed people were doing self-portraits every day for a year. I picked up my little point and shoot camera to join this project and this community. I started to post to Myspace after some time. People in my high school started to follow. Then I got my first DSLR camera. Facebook was a new thing. I decided to do 365 for two more years. After some time and some more self-discovery, my daily postings of a 22 trying to find himself started Instagram.
Here we are again. I am about to embark on another year challenge. Not trying to make the kids in high school like me, not to get more followers on Instagram, but either one of those things don't hurt. In all honesty, it is just for me. It is for me to push myself creatively every day. It is for me to just explore being 26 and see what I can come up with using my camera and mind.
So, daily postings for a year. Here we go again.
