Arcade Fire

I remember listening to Arcade Fire my freshmen year of high school. I never thought I would actually see them years and years later.

My friend texted me seeing if I wanted to go Sunday night. I had nothing else to do. I said "YEAH!" Our seats were in the nose-bleeds. I said, "No." After we tried to sneak into general admission and failed, we found our "these are our now" seats. We were fifth row.

This show was remarkable. The band entered the staduim show like they were entering a boxing ring. Matter of fact the stage was a boxing ring. It was awesome to see this square stage used like a circle. That means memembers would change spots so they were playing to each of their fans. The night was filled with dancing and singing. I left saying "I want to see them again."

Vérité at The Boot And Saddle on August 23, 2017

I bought tickets forever ago and the time finally came on Wednesday night! Vérité is a New York singer, songwriter who I became a fan of when I heard her cover of "Somebody Else."

It was instant love. Her album "Somewhere In Between" was only released this summer. I grew to like her music more and more. The venue in South Philly was so small, that I knew I had to buy tickets. Plus, smaller shows are my favorite.

TigerTown the upbeat, full enegery band opened for Vérité. They were a ton of fun and I suggest you look them up. I know I already started following them on Instagram. Question: how do people look cool? Like TigerTown just looks cool and I want to be their friends, but that is for another blog.

Vérité was everything and more. She started out with the biggest power song on the album, "Phase Me Out." I was hooked and sold into this show. I, of course, lost it and couldn't stop singing and dancing along. This lovely couple pushed me in front of them and said: "You are more excited to be here, go." I took it and stood by the stage while she performed. She crushed it. Her voice is original and honest. The lyrics are so truthful, and she knows how to perform. I wish the show went for like two more songs, but it was the first stop on her tour in a small venue in Philadelphia. I would say you need to buy tickets while you can. This small venue sold out and other shows will too. She is one of those artists that I am glad when she becomes crazy big, I can say "I saw her on her first stop with like 100 other people."
